Classes

Intro to Foraging

This 2 hour hands-on class will give you the tools to begin foraging. We cover where to look and what to look for, how to harvest and the best times to harvest, as well as preserving tips and recipes.

Intro to Mushrooms

Take this class if you’re interested in learning about the diversity of fungi found in the Appalachia Region. We will cover the different types of mushrooms, the seasons of choice edibles, the best locations to find choice edibles, dangerous look-alikes, and the basics of harvesting, preserving, and how to prepare delicious meals with the mushrooms we find. There is also a once-a-month gathering to inoculate logs. Join in on the fun and take home a log or two for your own garden!

Log Inoculation

Another very popular class! This one fills up quickly so be sure to book yours today! This is a one-hour class where I go over the tools and techniques for growing your own mushrooms and you’ll take home your own log!

Campfire Cooking 101

This class is designed to show you exactly what it takes to prepare a savory meal at the campsite. Choose from Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks or a combination of them all. I also offer Gourmet Cuisine, from stuffed omelettes and French toast for breakfast, to slow-smoked salmon and flambeed steaks for an unforgettable fireside dinner. If you’d rather sit back and relax and let me do all the cooking, l offer Fireside Service and come to your site to cook a meal of your choice and do all the clean-up. This is a great feature to really wow your guests!

Forage & Fire

This is the most popular class! We begin by going over fire building and the basics of fire cooking. Then we will take a short hike to forage around the forest for goodies to bring back to camp and make a delicious meal with the things we’ve found!

Art

Explore your creativity in a serene setting! I will bring all of the supplies to your campsite or property of choice and lead a step-by-step art lesson for up to 10 people. Themes include: canvas painting, mixed media, jewelry making, and children’s crafts. This is a great addition to a family gathering.
